Chebanse, IL.....

Mike, my thoughts are same as Tim in KS. We had very good conditions here (NE IL) this yr. Beans looked good-great all yr. Some areas of SDS, but I've seen worse. Beans even retained their height after leaf drop, which I realize means 0, but they looked GOOD! Plants were shoulder high on me @ combining time. They looked like 60 bus beans. But, they were much less in most cases.

Corn you can usually tell if there's a problem. Beans are such an absolute surprise & disappointment that they're very frustrating.

So-you ask yourself what you can do different next yr? We have no idea. Planted what should've been the "high yielders!!". I guess they were....in last yrs environment. Not sure what to fix or how. They tell us there isn't much that can be done to combat SDS. But, it doesn't seem to bother corn much that I can see.
