What is milo used for?

You touched on it. They will not put chemical resistance in the milo because it is closely related to several grass type weeds and they fear the resistance will leap to the weeds. Most important is Johnsongrass.

Also, a 50 lb bag will plant from 8 to 10 acres depending on location. I have heard rates below that in some of the drier areas. Hard for a seed salesman to get exited about a pickup load planting over 500 acres.
