Subject: RE: 225 Bushel Wheat

What would 225 bu wheat need for nutrients and water?

Conventional wisdom in West Central Sk is that you'll produce 4 bu of hard red spring wheat for every inch of water. We'll produce about 4 or 5 bu of spring durum and about 5 or 6 bu of hard red winter.

Those same crops will need about 2.25 lbs of N for each bushel.

Extrapolating our numbers to 225 bu would need 56 inches of water and over 500 lbs of N. I can see that some places could get 56 inches of rain in a year, but I doubt anyone puts that much N on though.
