E.Central MN | You can fool with Mother Nature, but you don't fool with govt mandated conservation practices... sooner or later they'll call them in and start asking them about the satellite photos with too much tillage on the HEL acres. It probably won't happen under the current administration, but could easily happen under the next. I think you're allowed to plow HEL once every 4 years if I remember right(even I don't remember exactly). I try to leave the HEL alone in the fall then I don't have to argue about leaving enough residue to satisfy them. | |
