Yes, dealers do give incentives to attract new customers like giving a planter's full worth of seed but they don't give away 24 row JD planters like Dan is mentioning above. There will always be a deal in different areas from different dealers that doesn't make sense but every dealer wants the farmers money and their margin is high enough that they can make these deals. Compare per bushel the corn you sell from the field to the corn you are putting into the ground in the spring and you will see a huge margin......yes there is a bit more work with seed production but not by that margin. I am referring to selling price of a bag of seed as well not what the seed growers are getting.
