Subject: Spraying question.........bear with me........crop oil and surfactant.

Kansas
I figure if I do this a little at a time it will soak in.

I want to discuss crop oil and it's purpose.

I was told that to get something to adhere better to plant leaves you use a surfactant.......that sound right? Spelling might be off.

The surfactant breaks the waxy surface of leaves and lets the chemical enter into the plant easier?

Is crop oil a form of surfactant or is there a different idea behind it?

When we say crop oil........what exactly are we referring to? CAnola oil? Veggie oil.....or some sort of lab made oil to use on crops?

How do we know when we need to use a crop oil and/or surfactant? Labeling? Does wind or temperature conditions affect it's use?

There are alot of days when it is 100 in the shade in kansas when spray will need applied. Evaporation rates are high in those days when the humidity is less than 15 percent. I did not know if those conditions will affect the use or lack of when it comes to this ordeal.

Thanks
Rich
