NE SD | Insurance says we can plant corn on 4/20. We are usually going by 4/22-4/25 along with most everyone else around here. Some guys do start 4/15-4/18. It's a fact that after about 4/25 we lose one bushel per day off the yield. Typically, our frost date is around may 9th which fits that two week window before the growth point comes out. Beans we don't worry too much about but start as soon as we can after corn. This last year with the mess we had I wound up re-seeding a bunch on 6/29. | |
