south east SD | Just got rid of the system and was so happy it's gone !! I had a 30 by 22 bin with 4 down auger sukup that you are thinking of. Here's the trouble, If you don't fill it and have trouble you have to get a ladder inside to work on it. I always filled mine high enough to work on it 9000 bushel. There was always something, belt, shear pin in the middle not reversing so you he to play with the linkage, crawl inside to get how wet the corn was (sample ). Is this the only bin you will have then it's not to bad. I had to unload mine 4 times a season. BUT if you have a choice I would build a 6000 bushel wet holding cone bin with a continues flow dryer and then an auger to fill a bin with a full floor to dump hot grain in. It will cost big money to start but you WILL be better in the long run. my 2 cents | |
