| We have taken standing hay on crop-share and on a cash rent basis. No-one has said anything about equipment preferences but I get heartily sick of the landlords who can't make decent hay themselves then rent it out and spend the whole haying season telling you what to do and when to do it. I don't consider a small field of mole-hill ridden alfalfa and weeds to be a high priority, what difference does it make to the landlord what quailty the hay is when he's being paid by the acre anyway? This is the main reason I'm quite happy to struggle through paying mortgages.
