Subject: Re: Dry Fertilizer again Planting

St.Clair Co. IL.
We use a gravity wagon with a auger for our starter fertilzer it is just a small 175bu. unit with a 8T. gear not hard to figure out how much you can put on,(8T.or less)we never put the max. on cause we are only like 4 miles from the fertilzer plant and hate getting a full load caught out in a rain shower. We use a regular 6in. steel auger when we are done with it we completely take it apart and clean and oil, we also wash the wagon and all the little cracks and creve's but the wagon is showing some bad effects it wasnt new so I really dont care tooo much I can weld in some pieces to fix. havent had any problems yet been doing this for about 8 yrs. now. Good luck Bob ooo One more thing we were haveing trouble with the clods and chunks choking up the fertilizer drops on the planter so we added a smaller holed piece of screen over the auger inlet end solved the problem
