Medford, OK | I believe that a planter gives you more uniform seeding compared to the air seeder. Our neighbors had bought a planter in the winter of 07 and had ran a test trial on it in milo this spring to see if it made a difference. Believe it or not it did, even with the wet summer that we had here, probably a 5 - 10 bushel difference in the planter planted milo then the air seeder planted. With the air seeder there was more clumping of plants on an 18 inch stretch, then nothing for a foot, then more clumping.
