East Central SD
Our local Coop had three long piles outside from the extra corn that came in after the steel and covered bunker was full. They make sure only dry corn gets dumped in the pile and start picking it up shortly after harvest is over. Next week they should finish picking it up (it makes a one mile trip to an ethanol plant) and it was all just like when it got piled. The employees will be glad when this job is done - they have to toss the snow off the pile with plastic-tined shovels to keep from getting too much snow mixed in the loads. Because of the efforts of some good employees we were able to keep our combines rolling last fall and our Coop didn't have any bushels spoil. Kevin
