In '73 I would have been 8. We didnt grow too many soys back then but there was a lot of white beans around. I had an uncle that told me he bought 250 acres that year, grew 75 acres of whites and said he could have paid off the farm with it. Land around here has gone up pretty steadly since then. In 93 I bought the farm beside me for 1600/ acre and my neighbour told me I was nuts for paying that much. Today I wouldn't sell it for 6000.
