Yeah, I know we are insured, by FDIC (Federal, that's our gubment, heck they are broke now) This would prolly only be an issue if people made runs on banks for their money to hide under their matresses, which is unlikely. There is not enough currency in this country to cover all deposits, it's all on record only.
