Subject: RE: painting bud wheels

Wimbleton White is often used by JD garden tractor collectors to simulate Dogwood White on the 1969-1971 Custom Color tractors when they want a quick paint job, just because it can be purchased off the shelf in rattle cans at auto parts stores. However, it isn't a perfect match and a good restorer will purchase the proper color by code. It can also be used to simulate the old Brinly white when restoring old Brinly garden tractor attachments. Old Cub Cadet white is also good for Brinly attachments.

In the Kansas City area, take your steel truck wheels to RMI Refinishing in Olathe like the fleets do and have them sandblasted and powdercoated. Then then are the "right" shade of white and will last a long time. They quoted me $65 per wheel. 913-829-3363.
