Subject: Displacement

Pat, I sort of missed your real question somehow.  The displacement of a Deere rwd motor is 800,1200, or 1600cc.  Most half way late model stuff was 1200, the 1600 will be found mostly with 28L rear rubber or on machines with tracks or 35.5 rice tires.  I think you may have to get into some of the early com lobe motors from the 20 series to fine many 800cc ones, but they ought to be cheaper.  The old planetary units from Deere (Massey used the Deere motors too) are just a little faster then the 1200cc cam lobe units.  They also made a planetary with twice as much reduction for the 30 and 40 series tractors and a few combines set up for tracks.  The low gear one is 40:1 and the normal one is (IIRC) 23:1.  The tractor units have a series/parallel valve to give high and low range by routing the oil either through the motors either in series or parallel.  The tractor units would probably adapt relatively easily to a sprayer as they bolt on just like the adjustable axle for the same model.  7700 RWD was a 4520 tractor axle.
