Your absolutely right. But I might add that these landlords are the same guys who when they farmed bitched about the BFO's being showy with there new tractors and combines every year. My dads brother, is that type, right up until he quit he b!tched about the BFO's in our area. Now he rents out his place and only wants the newest and biggest of everything on his place. I'd love to farm it but my 1992 JD 9400 combine is too old and wore out for his ground. He had a JD 55 square back and told me I was stupid for buying something so new and big. My new White 6 row planter is to small, at least thats what he told my dad. I'll just wait him out and farm it when my cousin gets it. As for now I don't need the headache of farming 65 acres for an ex-Pro part-time farmer who knows everything about anything.
