Subject: Hay Cuber.

What amount of moisture does it take to make cubes? Can it cube a course straw? Grass straw, like tall fescue is what I'm refering to.

I have some soil that has functioning tile, but the soil itself is not in condition to allow water to get to the tile. We've been removing aprox a ton of seed and 4 ton of straw per year for......way too many years. The soil is getting tight and I'm questioning wether or not one of the pesticides is killing off the earth worms. So, was thinking about maybe cubing the straw if possible and then use a shank to "inject?" the cubes into the soil.

The straw is very dry and has very few leaves left on it after combineing. The cubes dont have to be perfect or even storable, they just need to be able to be trasported from a pile?, to the injector hopper. What sort of production do these things get, like ton per hour? Are they very fuel thirsty?

Thanks.
