Subject: Re: MILLER WIRE FEED

We have a Millermatic 250. It was less than a year old when we bought it (can't remember the exact year but was back in the mid to late '90s) and the only trouble we have had is that we have had to replace the wire feed insert a couple of times. At the time we didn't have a heated shop, haven't had to replace one since we built our heated shop.

We also have a AC/DC stick welder and I prefer the stick for heavy steels. Contrary to the the poster who said the wire doesn't weld rustey metals as well, we have found just the opposite. Have to clean better for the stick than we do the wire welder. Will have to check & see what wire we are running but it was recomended to us buy a friend who does lots of fabrication work. For gas we use Stargon.

You won't regret buying a wire welder, just don't skimp on size.
