Alton, Ia | About 18 months ago I left the corporate stupidity and farm full time now. Occasionally, I get together with my old buddies, and they inevitably ask- What'cha up to? I tell them, they reply, in various ways "oh, just farming huh". They have no flippng idea what it's like.
I've explained to them a few times this way- How would you do it on Jan 1 each year you were given 260 tokens, and each day, you had to decide whether to trade them in for some market price, or hold them. Plus you had to decide when to buy your "stuff", ie work supplies, etc. No idea if tomorrow would be higher or lower, and you do the work regardless how well you did at selling your tokens. They usually get the deer in headlight look then.
I try not to even think about swings like this. Just stay the course, work the plan. :) | |
