I think if you double the price of wheat you would only add 4 to 5 cents per loaf to the cost of baking bread. Taking corn from $3 to $6 could be made up with maybe 8 to $10 extra on the live weight of a calf. $10x1300 lbs.=$130. That would more than cover the 45 bushel of corn that calf is eating to get fat! Wouldn't need a whole heck of a lot more at the grocery store to recover the extra expense either. I know everyone is suppose to panic and blame the farmer but come on people! | |
