Don't mean to dispute your message but I believe Carter appointed Paul Volcker chairmen of the Fed.. Carter was elected in 76 and Reagan in 80. Reagan reappointed Volcker. My father in law bought Des Moines Hospital bonds for 14.85% tax free both state and federal.
