About all they can do to refine it is to make additive packages that deal with it's weaknesses. It's main weaknesses are that it ruins rubber and it gels at slightly highert temps than diesel. The first problem can be taken care of by fuel system design or modification. The second problem can be taken care of by additives. The first problem wasn't really seen in blends up to 30% bio.
