| As always, I could be wrong but my bet is our government will be doing much in the next few weeks and months to see that the economy stays afloat. Maybe even doing things unprecedented. Unprecedented: Liking that word more and more.
How can corn, beans and wheat go down significantly and stay down while we continue to have unprecedented demand for them? Economically viable cellulosic derived ethanol is perhaps as far as 10 years away. Even once it's viable corn derived ethanol will still be needed for several more years or longer. Too, once cellulose derived ethanol becomes big, that too will be a boon for the farmer.
This demand sets on a pretty good foundation of global warming and our striving for eventual freedom from foreign oil and the problems that accompany it. And, I have no doubt, most Americans would rather fill the farmer's pockets than the pockets of some shiek in the middle east.
