hey you are Russell Crowe

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/06/06/entertainment/main699969....

I have lurked for a while and enjoyed your post SC

also strangely I remember complaints about the rising US corn price from Ethanol use RAISING the price of Mexican corn to near panic levels and tortilla price controls just a month or two back in Mexico

one would think the high prices would allow their farmers to do "OK" even with imports included because remember "prices are TOO high because of ethanol"

the US farmer just can't win......price is too low....too much on the market.......price is too high......flooding us out.....repeat

really sadly Mexico suffers from corruption, market controls resulting in small plot farming, free education only to grade 5 or 6 which keeps labor cheap and uneducated and in the market too soon in life, and lack of farming extension and research.....some nice people and a nice place in parts.....but so much more potential
