Subject: RE: Marten spading wheels

WC Indiana
I think they are the best thing I ever put on the planter. I had a split row planter at one time and I put Martin Spaders on the the front and left the press wheels on the back. I had a 20,000 plant better stand where I had the spaders (140,000 vs. 120000). Martin says they have measured a 7 degree soil temperatuire rise where the spader fluffs up a ridge. I actually want the spader to be fairly agressive and pop the center up.

The key is space them apart the correct distance with washers, then adjust the closing wheel bracket to center on the row.
