Same thing happened a while ago with Hardee rotaries - old man Hardee retired and sold the company and, after a few years, got PO'ed about the rep the new equipment was getting due to lighter/cheaper construction. He apparently did well enough with his investments that he could afford to buy the company back and return to building a better product. Only thing is a bad rep is hard to turn around. There is also a bunch more competition in smaller/cheaper priced units (Howse, King Kutter, Befco, etc) these days that overbuilding is likely to price a comparable unit out of market.

Rhino, Schulte, Woods, Hardee - unless you are really killing the unit doing stuff it shouldn't be asked to do they should all be a good choice. Of course, the heavier the better for a shredder.
