It is a shame the welfare mentality that some farmers have. Can't seem to be able to survive without a government handout...... Imo if a farmer had any pride or self respect he would refuse to take the direct payments that are being proposed in the new farm bill. With the types of market prices that are being offered at this time it would be disgraceful to the farming community to accept a gov. welfare check.

I agree, darn welfare farmers.
Stupid politicians giving welfare to stupid 2% population of welfare farmers when they expect the other 98% of Americans to vote for them as though the 98% saw some benefit from this welfare subsidy driven cheap food policy this country has.
Last week some fellow on the radio said that food is so cheap in America that the average non farming American has by early February earned enough money to feed himself and his family for the entire year, owing to our cheap subsidized food supply.

Why I would think that any non farming American with any pride or self respect(that's over 98% of them) would realize how little they have spent on food and donate at least 50% of their yearly income to starving countries that do not subsidize their agriculture, just so not to be seen in the eyes of the world as food welfare rats.

Darn subsidies, darn welfare farmers !!!!
Darn were a fat bunch of ungrateful slobs dying of obesity related diseases because we have such plentiful cheap subsidized food we bought with so little exercise /work. ;-)))
