Sure am, I had no LDP payments on any of my crops this year because the market price was above loan rate.
The only reason prices are this high is that most grain was sold during or right after harvest to fill lower $$ grain contracts for far less than todays prices. Very few people have grain to sell at these prices, and if you do, you better use it and any subsidy to pay down debt, replace worn out equipment, and put some away for the incredible 100% + input cost increase we have seen in the last two years. |
