You dont say weather you plow with a packer or with a packer and drill or with nothing on the back....A plow with no packer and drill dries out soil quickly if you dont get back to seed it.(lays loose) A disc will also dry out soil quickly till you get back to seed it.(lays loosely also) Discing results in smoother operation/ground and you can drive any direction, unlike the plow in both ways. Discing is faster. I would say with a disc yu will get more grasses as the dirt gets finer and looser on top unless you seed directly behind the disc.Leaving the clover over winter would provide cover for the soil and perserve moisutre,but will add to your work load in spring.A disc will pull cheaper than a moldboard plow. Discs dont like rocks. |
