From what is written there is no advantage for banding Phosphate over broadcast, As long as the pH is 6.5 to 7.
When working soil above 7.5 pH there is a distinct advantage to banding.
Folks in Oklahoma tell us deep banding 10-34-0 will pay well enough to cover the higher cost of liquid over dry phosphate fertilizer.

Unless we have a soil with a real abundance of phosphate we will see a crop response to fertilizer.
Crop removes of the field 45 lbs P2O5 and only 15 lbs is supplied then that extra 30 lbs has to come from somewhere, or production will suffer. (Irregardlessly)
