Northwest Ohio | Using a Hardi TR500 Sprayer with walking tandems. Raised the underside of the sprayer by 8 inches (tried it the first year and too many beans bent over for my liking ... but that was an exceptionally tall year for beans too). Running 12.4x38 tires, on an IH 574. Doesn't totally clear the beans since it's been raised, but they bounce back and didn't notice any difference after a couple days. The ractor is currently less clearance than the sprayer (need one of those high clearance tractors I guess).
Interesting thing in that on the ends where we turned (and ran over a few beans) .... the knocked over beans had quite a few more green stems at harvest (almost like they got stressed and never totally recovered). | |
