Someone at a meeting said the plan was to mix several different modes of action against the bugs in the same bug, so instead of a refuge, you had multiple ways to kill the bugs.

Mixing your own won't get the 'proper' percentages of each thing.

Just mixing BT & non BT corn in the planter box means every bug will be exposed to BT, and there will be not bugs that can live in the refuge without exposure. The point of the refuge is to have bugs that are not exposed to the bt, so they will not have resistance. This is why the experts want the block of non-bt.

I donno anything about it, just how it';s been explained to me.

The insurance discount is pretty odd, betting it all on the one test coming out in your favor. Is the company garenteeing their non-bt bags are 100% pure? Seems like something to run away from, than to be drawn to.
