E.Central MN | Even here in MN it used to be that you didn't see E85 pumps very often, even in towns that had ethanol plants. One issue is the cost of putting in another tank and pump which may or may not pump enough gallons to pay for itself. Another issue is the contracts that many stations have with their fuel supplier. Some have restrictions which won't allow the stations to put E85 pumps in. Even if they put them in there's no guarantee that the price will be less than unleaded which will discourage sales. For such a huge and supposedly "free market" its more complicated than we think. | |
