| At this time for the BYE you must keep your BYE acres identefied from your refuge. You want to be surE you take the adjuster from your crop company to the BYE portion of the field in the event you get pulled for an audit. Your chance is about 5%.
The adjuster will pull ten leaves from each unit. they will be sent to a lab. the lab will pull 3 leaves from the each bag at random and check them. Two MUST pass the test. if a unit fails, then your whole corn policy is voided for that county and you pay 20% of the premium. Now, just in the past 10 days I've heard there may be a second chance for a failed unit. The adjuster will be sent back out to collect 10 more leaves to run thru the same test. This time IT HAD BETTER PASS!
So, whether you strip your refuge or block it, be sure you know EXACTLY where that BYE corn is at. | |
