I rarely see the night news but did catch the WGN weather tonight - Tom Skillings was talking about how we are "definitely" in a LaNina pattern with a colder & wetter than "normal" extended spring likely to be followed by a hotter and drier than "normal" summer. We are sure having a colder than usual spring - supposed to be at or below zero ( deg F ) again over the next couple nights N & W of Chicago. Hard to believe Easter is only about two weeks away. Ground is frozen solid and just covered with ice. Tempting to start planting early but in this senario you don't want to be too early and have the seed just sit there in cold wet ground...probably best to be ready to hit the regular planting window?
