White burley is darn near dead in these parts, makes the best cigarettes in the world.

But some don't want us smoking and increasing health care costs even more when the rest of the world would trade anything for a good pack of US cigarettes.

I could have traded a pack of Camels or Pall Mall for about anything in China or Eastern Europe when I was there.

Now I hijacked the thread even more.

Don't miss hanging or stripping tobacco, but enjoyed growing it, setting it, not so much topping it or cutting it.

What is dark fire cured used for, same mix?

Cigar leaf was never worth raising to me but white burley built farms and fortunes south of here.

Most just got by though and raised their families right.
