One of the main reasons for using an RTS (Reduced Tillage Specialist) unit up here is to "darken up the soil" in No Till Soy into Corn Stubble situations. Our gray soils can stay cold into the middle of May. No one wants to revert back to so called tillage again so this serves as a nice alternative. I've also seen it used on soy stubble where the farmer applyies dry fert, tills once with an RTS then plants . Pretty quick and it works.
