| We sample thousands of acres a year and the approach we take with banded fertilizer is to take a probe and then take another probe 1/2 width of the band perpindicular to the direction of the band as well as taking a greater number of probes per sample. So essentially if you have 30" band spacing running east west then every probe you take you would take another 15" to the north or south of that first probe. This is what most universities recommend and from our experiences it has worked well for us and everything comes back in line with what we would have expected. | |
