Your posts are great - all your clients must thank God every year at this time for giving them an agent like you. I also have a great agent( with a farming operation )that clients both depend on and trust. Personally, it seems to me that using the revenue policy is a simple way to remove yourself from the temptation of getting into a speculation mindset (if you used the board to provide protection). This year it seems to me that (in my case) paying 15 cents per bushel to insure I will have the revenue that a 200 bushel crop at $3.95 per bushel will provide (CRC at 85%) is something that cannot be ignored. While the premium difference between the lower levels of coverage verses the extra income protection is a concern, I have been in the situation several times where the payback in that 5% of extra coverage made all the difference in the bottom line. | |
