I agree Pofarmer. Around here you put that much N on & you would be cutting wheat that you could see a rabbit run across the other end. In this area most guys usually put on around 100# total N.

As for when to top-dress it. I have put it all on in the fall & I have put part on in the fall then finished up in the ealry spring when there was still enough frost in the ground to hold up the spreader truck. This is the 1st year in several years that we have grown wheat. So far I haven't top dressed mine. I was going to but the guy that was to do it recomended waiting till it had started to come out of dormacy. He suggested waiting till ealry to mid April.

BTW, wheat harvest in this area is usually late June, early July.
