Iowa | Overall, horse prices are terrible. Non-registered (grade) horses can hardly be given away. We can thank the tree huggers for getting the US slaughter houses closed up. Right now all of the slaughter horses are going to Canada or Mexico.

I was up at the sale a couple weeks ago and a person could pick up a sound, 8-10 year old gelding for about $800.
