Has anyone sidedressed corn with urea by banding it between the rows with a side or rear knife coulter assembly? I'm looking for comments or experiences. I'm considering a semi mounted toolbar banding unit with a 2 ton dry fertilizer hopper and coulter/knife openers. Would it work to sidedress or band urea preplant? Would it need openers between every row, or would every other row work OK?
