We band urea and MAP with the planter. About 3x3 from the row. The major downside I can see with sidedress is you need some moisture there to get things going. I think NH3 would be available faster. Also, I would want somekind of a closer/crumbler to close the trench. I've sidedressed 32% some, and I just hate to see that slot come open when it gets dry. Need some kind of closer IMHO.
