DE | I have a field that has spots(would say about 5acres out of 90) where the crop either dies or doesn't germinate or does poorly with a ph of 4.6, buffer of 6.8, acidity of 1.3 and cec of2.4. The rest of the field tests ph of 5.2, buffer 6.8, acidity 1.5. and cec 4.5. I just put 1.75 ton of hi-cal lime on and usually strip-till my corn(I'm putting corn in this field in about a month). My question is should I incorporate this lime with chisel plow and/or disk since the ph is so low to help speed things up. I've read where the movement of liming effect is only a inch or so a year. This is lighter sandier type soil on eastern shore Delmarva peninsula. | |
