Subject: Re: Hay shortage in South?

Martinsville Ill
Hay here is all gone. Folks are selling hay that we normally would put in a washout. Can't afford to put it in a washout. I heard last year even after the Easter freeze that more acres would be planted to hay???? where the interstate median? Now 08 planting more? I don't think so.

Grass small square is going for $6 some places higher. Locally we hear stories of even worse conditions to the south as you have suggested. We have had calls from Tenn. & Ky. wanting hay.

Here I doubt any new hay will be put in the ground. I'm going to have the kids bale the yard. I hate mowing anyway.
