Subject: RE: Corn Crop Insurance

If you are talking about Federal crop insurance - it will be covered with the same insurance coverages (coverage level. price and options) as other like crop acreage. You will simply include that acreage when you report your acreage.

Example: if you have 85% RA-HP with YA option, basic units, that same coverage will apply to all acreage of that crop that you have an interest in the county on the day you planted it. You do not need to do the Monsanto BYE until acreage reporting date. Make sure to get the "seed dealer certification." You will need to provide that to your agent along with your acreage report.

If you are talking about crop-hail the answer may be different and you will need to check with agent or read your policy. Most policies have "early season" coverage that applies your 2007 coverage for the crop to the 2008 crop until a specific date.

Have a worry free planting season.
