West-central Illinois | I gave the shot in the upper neck...so probably not in the vein. The advice given to shoot what we did was probably not correct, even though it shouldn't have killed it. I suppose it could have been much worse off than we realized and the oxytet did him in, but that still shouldn't have happened... could have been a freak reaction. In talking to our regular vet, he recommended Baytril for existing scour problems where as we were told that it probably would go away on its own from the other source. So the few other calves that have the scours got a shot of that today. Hopefully that will stave off any problems. Thanks for the input. | |
