Gilroy 35 Miles Over the Hill From Santa Cruz | My Dad uses a round pen with a 4' round Alley around it - puts animals (Calves or what ever) in center pen and dog in alley - then put dogs and animals feed/water on the fence by/across from each other and raps the out side fence with BLK PLASTIC or burlap so the dog can ONLY see the animals - feed all the animals at the same time - dogs soon learn they have the force to keep the animals being work away from their food.
You can even go into the center pen and move the stock while giving the dog dog directions - (Let the dog pick the direction and give THAT command |
