| Planter data is Voyager format as well.
Current New Holland data is Voyager format; older NH data was in a LOG format, and they did have problems with that. Even the New Holland software couldn't process it correctly, because it wasn't collected properly in the combine.
In CNH's defense, they do have a vested interest in selling their own software, so a lag for third-party support is understandable.
And I believe this problem extends to other companies as well. For example, can any other software package process the full range of Ag Leader Insight files? How about Deere's new GS2?
I would agree with you that if you are using AFS hardware, the AFS software is probably the software of choice. But I would extend this to any manufacturer's system. If you're using Greenstar hardware, JD software is probably the best bet. (Though with their recent Apex ball-dropping, I'm not so sure I would ever recommend JD software to anyone!!!! :-) | |
